1969 Dodge Daytona Comes To D-Town

Texas is no California or Florida when it comes to car culture, but a few times a year car culture comes to us by way of certain events. Case and point, Mecum’s upcoming Dallas auction with this 1969 Dodge Daytona stealing the show.

Not only is this the first serial number in the run of Daytonas, but it was originally from the Lone Star State. That’s right, this classic was first sold in Kileen, Texas on August 28th in the summer of ’69. This example represents one of the 503 Daytonas that Dodge would produce, but only 1 of 139 with the 440cu.-in. magnum V8 and 4-speed transmission. With a date code correct engine under the hood the rest of the car has since been restored to near factory conditions which includes the number matching transmission.

This Bright Blue Metallic with blue interior and iconic white wing will cross the block in Dallas September 4-7 where it is projected to sell between $275,000 – $325,000.
