2019 Mustang Shelby GT350 Adds Tech, Track Capability

Utilizing their extensive motorsports and performance car track record (pun intended) Ford Performance has given their 2019 Mustang Shelby GT350 quite a boost.

The aerodynamics of the car were upgraded to feature an all-new rear spoiler with optional Gurney flap which was born out of the data collected by both the company’s road course cars and wind tunnel testing for the new GT500. Additionally, the new aero will be complimented by the car’s standard MagneRide active suspension improving its cornering ability.

Further helping in the corners, and everywhere, is the GT350s all-new tires. Working in conjunction with Michelin a new tire was developed. The, “Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires with a Shelby GT350-specific tread pattern and different compound to deliver more grip for significantly improved acceleration and lateral acceleration, as well as braking.”

Powered by a 5.2-liter V8, Ford’s most powerful naturally aspirated engine ever, the GT350 produces 526 horsepower and 429 lb.-ft. of torque mated to a Tremec 6-speed manual transmission. The 2019 GT350 will begin to rollout Q1 of 2019.
