2020 GT350R Gets Up Upgrades From GT500

Despite not going under the knife for major improvements, the new touches to the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT350R will have a meaningful impact.

Borrowing chassis tech from its GT500 brethren, the GT350R features a “redesigned front suspension geometry with a redesigned high-trail steering knuckle” all inspired by the GT500. Additionally, the second biggest change to the car would be an effort to reduce its overall weight. To do this, Ford is offering a rear seat delete, carbon fiber wheels and the removal of exhaust resonators, the latter of which has the added benefit of a “sharper” exhaust sound.

On the cosmetic and comfort side of things the 2020 GT350R has red painted brake calipers, pin striping, and stitching along with Shelby GT350R badging. Comforts include an available B&O tech package featuring a 12-speaker system, voice-activated navigation and a Blind Spot Information System.
