Captain America’s Camaro Stops By ‘Jay Leno’s Garage’

The 1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS in question was gifted by Robert Downey Jr. to Chris Evans, inspired by his role as Captain America.

There is a lot to be said about the Camaro built by Minneapolis based SpeedKore Performance, but most notably is, “that’s not tacky at all!” Sure, Tony Stark is dapper AF, but in the world of custom cars inspired by comic book movies, well, they’re not always great.

The nods to the famous Avenger on this RS are subtle and much more inline with the Steve Rogers of yesteryear than present day and that’s a good thing. Muted colors, small details like his logo on the steering wheel and a commemorative plaque are more reminiscent of the Greatest Generation that would actually have owned a ’67 and driven it verse those today looking to make a comic book car.

While Cap himself is not in this current episode he does make his triumphant return to the screen in tomorrow night’s, Thursday, episode of Jay Leno’s Garage, where he will learn to stunt drive and do an “epic burnout” in his one-of-a-kind ‘Maro.
