Channel Your Inner Richie Rich With A Bugatti Baby II

What do you get the young master of the house that has everything? Why a Bugatti Baby II of course!

It should go without saying that the mega rich aren’t buying babies, but then again it should also go without saying that their isn’t a pizza joint in DC up to shady practices. However, this is the world we live in and this isn’t a real baby, but the sequel to the 1926 half-scale Type 35 Bugatti which Ettore Bugatti and his son Jean made for Jean’s brother’s fourth birthday. What was intended to be a one-of-a-kind gift for the young boy turned into a production run of 500 for Bugatti enthusiasts.

Today, as the brand turns 110, Bugatti is resurrecting their famous birthday gift by way of another 500 unit run, but this time it’s the Baby II. The newest version is a three-quarter size Type 35 and unlike the original is built for both children and adults. In “child mode” the car will be limited to 1kW and around 12mph, but in “adult mode” the power is ramped up to 4kW and a top-speed closer to 28mph. Though like the Bugatti Chiron the Baby II has an optional “speed key” upgrade which unlocks power up to 10kW and disables the speed limiter.

Bugatti doesn’t actually say what the top-speed of the Baby II is which is a bit terrifying and intriguing all the same, but I’m willing to bet with a starting price around $34,000 that it’s the fastest way you can show your kid you love them.
