Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320 Gets NHRA Stamp Of Approval

Good news for NHRA fans, Challenger fans and really everyone, because pushing the envelope in motorsports makes everyone better, the new Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320 has got the green light from the NHRA.

The car, which is appropriately named for the quarter-mile distance in feet, is legal for NHRA competition in both the Stock and Super Stock classes. The “Angry Bee” as it is has been dubbed is the “fastest naturally aspirated, street legal muscle car available” and is powered by a 392 HEMI V8 putting out 485hp and 475lb.-ft. of torque resulting in a quarter-mile time of 11.70 seconds at 115 miles per hour. Additionally, the car will feature the “Angry Bee” graphic in a variety of places from the front fenders to the instrument panel.

According to Dodge, “The Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320 can be modified for competition in NHRA according to Stock and Super Stock class rules. The vehicle will feature a class weight break of 8.72 and carry a minimum weight of 3,400 lbs. Contestants intending to compete at an NHRA event must meet any and all rules and regulations for the category they intend to enter.”

Without modifications the car is approved to compete in National Muscle Car Association (NMCA) events. The 2019 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320 Package is $3,995 on top of the $38,995 for the Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack with an additional $3,000 to cover the the automatic transmission and destination charge.
