Dodge Drops Daytona 50th Anniversary Edition

In 1969 Dodge changed the automotive landscape with their famous large-winged Daytona NASCAR entry. Now, 50 years later, they celebrate the car’s gold jubilee with the debut of the 2020 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody Daytona 50th Anniversary Editions.

While the famed wing is only hinted at in the 2020 edition and pointy nose done away with, the manufacturer is mirroring the original car’s production run of only 501 units. In keeping with the high-horsepower, high-speed original prototype that topped a 200mph average lap speed, the anniversary edition packs 717hp and 650lb.-ft. of torque. If those numbers seem wrong to you for the Hellcat, you’re not wrong. Dodge re-calibrated the powertrain on this Hellcat to get an additional 10hp bumping on the standard 707hp the Hellcat has become known.

Additionally, the car features anniversary edition plaques, custom stitching and Daytona markings on the seats. Available in four colors, Pitch Black, Triple Nickel and White Knuckle with the fourth being an exclusive to the edition B5 Blue. The 2020 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody Daytona 50th Anniversary Edition will go on sale in the fall of this year with delivers beginning first-quarter of 2020.
