Dodge unveils the most powerful American SUV and Muscle Car

This year might not have been the best, but Dodge

plans to change that for 2021

With how 2020 is going so far, all of us could use some good news. Let’s be honest, it’s going to take more than a new Apple IOS and a couple of good memes to turn this year around. Now that we’re officially on the back half of 2020, Dodge looked to turn things around and cheer us up with one tried and true method: great American tire-smoking horsepower. Starting this week with a brief tease, we all knew Dodge was about to unveil some serious hp.

Dodge 3 New Cars

Dodge focused their lineup renovation on 3 models: The Durango, Challenger, and Charger.

2021 Dodge Durango

During their unveiling, Dodge stressed that no what stage of your life that you’re in if you have the desire for speed and horsepower, they’ve got a vehicle for you. Getting a much need upgrade, in 2021 you can expect to see these changes to the Durango platform

-New front facia, rear spoiler, and upgraded headlights (LED)

-Asymmetric cockpit geared towards the driver

-Upgraded media console and navigation

-Claimed “every level will be the best in class towing”

-The ‘Tow-N-Go’ Package

-Increase in top speed from 118 to 140mph

         -6 piston Brembo brakes

         -Active dampening suspension

         -Electronic limited-slip rear axel

         -A high-performance exhaust system

-(Not surprising) 2021 Durango Hellcat

         -1 year only special

-710 hp and a tow capacity of 8,700 lbs.

-X pipe exhaust system for a muscle car sound

         -“Higher spins for more hp”

         -With the claimed accolades

-“Best 1/4 mile time of SUVs” at 11.5 second

              -“0-60 in 3.5 seconds”

              -“Near perfect 50-50 weight distribution”

2021 Challenger Super Stock

The classic and iconic muscle car silhouette has been an automotive favorite. As the competition attempts to catch up, Dodge plans to drop a gear and leave everyone else in the rearview mirror. While smoking tires at 50 mph is a blast a couple of times, when you’re spinning you’re not winning. With the Dodge Demon discontinued, they continue to double and make the Challenger a menace on the track. With the introduction of the Super Stock, here is what you can expect:

-Standard 3.05 gears

-4 piston Brembo lightweight brakes

-18 x 11 wheels

-315 Drag Radials

-Increased horsepower to 807 hp on pump gas

-With these upgrade, the Super Stock claims to run the 1/4 mile in mid 10’s

-With the Demon discontinued, the Super Stock claims the crown as the production muscle car.

2021 Charger SRT Redeye

Since the Redeye has been produced it instantly became a favorite amongst the already stacked Dodge catalog. The Charger has become geared towards automotive enthusiasts that crave the extra speed and power, but also need the additional seating for their family and be a daily driver. Normally we stay far far away from anything that has more than 2 doors, the numbers this Charger is putting up, we might have to make an exception to that rule. Here is what you can expect for the 2021 Charger Redeye

-800 hp with a top speed of 200+mph, all fit into a family capable sedan.

-Mid 10’s 1/4 mile time

-Mid 3’s for the 0-60 mph

-Besides the muscle of the Charger, it seems that overall this model will stick pretty close to its original recipe.

Sprucing up their already impressive lineup, Dodge now has 3 700+ mph muscle cars (with their own definition the Durango is a “muscle car SUV”). No matter how many passengers you have, Dodge continues to deliver their promise of “Freedom, Brotherhood, and the pursuit of horsepower”. On paper, their latest additions look nice, but we’ll be the judge once we see the rubber meet the road. Till then, these will be at the top of our wish lists.
