The Ford Ranger Raptor Is Coming!

It’s not often you see a press release from a company as big as ford that uses “bad-ass” in the headline, but in the case of their new Ranger Raptor what other adjective is their really?

The Ranger is Ford’s best-selling truck and just as the F-150 is in America, the Ranger now stands to get the Raptor treatment as well for 2019. The truck, which will be available in Europe only, made its debut at Gamescom in Germany in conjunction with news it will be featured in Forza Horizon 4.

Going on sale in mid-2019 the suped-up Raptor will feature a Bi-turbo 2.0‑liter EcoBlue diesel engine producing 210hp and 367lb.-ft. of torque. And while for most the Ranger Raptor will remain on the road it is upgraded for off of it. Featuring a “race-bred suspension” the truck uses FOX shock absorbers with “Position Sensitive Damping [to] provide higher damping forces at extremes for unparalleled off-road capability, and lower damping forces in more moderate conditions for a smoother ride on-road.”

Additionally the truck will feature a Terrain Management System with six modes. Via Ford:

Normal mode – emphasising comfort, fuel economy and driveability
-Sport mode – more responsive for spirited on-road driving
-Grass/Gravel/Snow mode – designed to inspire safe and confident driving on off-road slippery and uneven surfaces
-Mud/Sand mode – tuning vehicle responses for optimum traction and momentum in deep, deformable surfaces like loose sand and mud
-Rock mode – specifically for low-speed rocky terrain where smooth controllability is key
-Baja mode – tuning responses for high-speed off-road performance, just like drivers need in the famous Baja Desert Rally
