GT 66 Heritage Looks To Steal Show At Barrett

Usually when talking heritage it’s that one friend going on about how they’re a meaningless amount of Cherokee or something, but every once and again heritage can spawn something wonderful. Case and point, this 2017 Ford GT 66 Heritage Edition.

The limited-edition GT commemorates Ford’s Ferrari busting 1-2-3 finish at the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans, more specifically the GT40 Mark II piloted by Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon. The Shadow Black with silver and white details aren’t traditional supercar or even racecar, but paired with the exposed carbon package it makes for one mean looking ride.

While lately it’s been Chevrolet stealing all the wide-engine attention with their latest corvette, this mid-engine offering is not to be overlooked. Featuring a turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost this GT puts out over 600hp and is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. All that power is brought to the ground by single-piece forged 20-inch wheels finished in a gold clear coat and brought to a stop by Brembo carbon ceramic breaks.

As it would turn heads on the street or on the track, it inevitably will do the same in two months at Barrett-Jackson’s Las Vegas auction October 3-5.
