‘Happy Days’ 1929 Ford Hi-Boy Roadster Pickup

In 1974 Happy Days debuted giving America a glimpse into what the perception of a quintessential life was in the 1950s to 1960s Midwest. To achieve that they created a wide-range of characters which each personified life during that time. One such character was Ralph Malph who was often used for comic relief who would further punctuate his jokes with his signature catchphrase, “I still got it!” And to further drive home (pun intended) his attitude toward life was his 1929 Ford Hi-Boy Roadster Pickup, a car which in show years would have been some 30 years old.

Today that exact car used in taping is nearly 90 years old and well, it’s still got it! Literally, the car is unrestored from production and now features the signatures of the cast. However, it’s not just show and no go. The Hi-Boy features a flathead V8 along with numerous other modifications. This 1929 is a classic piece of Americana by every sense of the definition and is currently slated to be sold at auction Saturday January 13th at a price of $150,000 – $175,000.
