Harley-Davidson Strategy Involves Smaller, Electric Bikes

Not sure that in recent months the adage, “any press is good press” holds true at Harley-Davidson, but the troubled motorcycle maker looks to right the ship with an extended lineup of middleweight and electric bikes.

Most notably is the brand’s first electric Motorcycle, the Livewire, do out next year. The bike is the first of many electric bikes that Harley has planned through 2022 and will feature no clutch, but rather a “twist and go” style. Additionally, the brand is expanding their middleweight lineup with the addition of three new bikes: Pan America 1250, Custom and Streetfighter. The 1250cc Pan America will be the company’s first Adventure Touring motorcycle with the 1250cc Custom and 975cc Streetfighter rounding out the first wave of middleweight bikes to continue through 2022.
