Hennessey Unveils F5 Carbon Fiber Chassis

You know you’re building something right when each element is worthy of its own debut and Hennessey Special Vehicles is building something very right.

In their slow rollout to absurd speeds, the Texas based manufacturer has debuted the all-new Venom F5 Carbon Fiber Chassis. To handle the insane 1,800+hp engine and over 310mph top speed the team went with a light, yet super strong carbon chassis. How strong? Well, the torsional rigidity measured¬†38,353 lb-ft torque per degree and it weighs just 190lbs. And if you’re not sure exactly what that means, just know it’s certainly stronger than you are and most likely lighter than you are… It certainly is me.

Hennessey is in production on the F5 now and will debut the car this August at The Quail during Monterey car week. The car is being offered by the manufacturer for $1.8 million and only building 24 examples which somehow, according to Hennessey, has not entirely sold out yet in the U.S. The U.S. is only receiving half of the production run with the other 12 examples being allocated for international markets.
