Is This Resto Mod GTO For You? You Be The Judge!

The Paul DeAngelo Collection is slated to bring a dozen American muscle cars to Mecum’s mid-May Indy auction, but none more unique than this 1969 Pontiac GTO resto mod.

As the resto mod title would suggest this is not your average goat, but rather a modern take on the second-generation GTO. Gone are any of the Ram Air engine variants the car was originally offered with and instead sits an LS3 with a 6-speed transmission in the engine bay. Making a name for itself in the fifth-generation and C6 Corvette the LS3 is a 6.2-liter small-block V8 Chevrolet crate engine, a present day take on the standard V8 the car once featured.

The touches of today continue throughout the rest of the car with a modified interior featuring a 2+2 setup with custom console and stereo. All sitting on Billet Specialities wheels and Hankook tires with Wilwood brakes. This one-of-a-kind ’69 GTO will cross the stage in Indianapolis on Saturday, May 19th and will most certainly catch the eye of collectors and those looking to rip, alike.
