Jeep Gets Upgraded Torque, Fuel Economy Via New EcoDiesel

Do you like power? Do you like fuel economy? Do you like both in one of the most iconic American cars of all time? Then you’re in luck!

Jeep has introduced their all-new 2020 Jeep Wrangler EcoDiesel. Available on four-door Wrangler models the EcoDiesel engine is the “highest torque-rated Wrangler engine ever” with 442lb.-ft. The power is derived from the, obvious, EcoDiesel engine which is a 3.0-liter V6 making 260hp to go along with the insane amount of torque. Additionally, the EcoDiesel engine gives this Wrangler variant “the highest driving range on one tank of fuel ever for Wrangler.”

The increase torque led Jeep to need an upgraded transmission to handle the power the EcoDiesel is putting down and the result is the TorqueFlite 8HP75 eight-speed automatic transmission. This newly added transmission is accompanied by 40 individual shift maps for optimized shifting on and 0ff-road.

“One of the most common questions consumers have asked us over the last few years has been, ‘will you please offer a Jeep Wrangler diesel?’, and I’m pleased to answer that with a resounding, ‘Yes!’,” said Jim Morrison, Head of Jeep Brand – North America. “I recently drove the new Jeep Wrangler EcoDiesel on the Rubicon Trail and can unquestionably attest to its incredible off-road capability. Combining that unmatched off-road capability with the vehicle’s fun-to-drive on-road performance, best-ever Wrangler fuel economy and incredible driving range underwrite the fact that our customers knew exactly what they were asking for.”
