Live Like A King In Elvis’s 1971 Mercedes-Benz 280SEL

At first glance I know what you’re thinking, “Elvis parks like a dick,” but he’s the King and can do what he wants! Also, he’s not the one that parked this 1971 Mercedes-Benz 280SEL, but you could if you purchase it at Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas next month.

This 1971 Benz was purchased new by Elvis and owned by him until his death in 1977. After that the car was purchased and sent to a museum for 40 years. The car has been repainted Alpha Crystal Blue Metallic, but maintains the original fuel-injected 169.5ci 6-cylinder engine making 180hp and 193 lb.-ft. of torque. As one would expect it’s also optioned out for a King featuring the latest upgrades of the time from air conditioning to a Becker Europa AM/FM radio WITH 8-track player.

Accompanying the sale of the car is a picture of it in front of his Graceland home, a fitting accompaniment to the car as it crosses the block at his home away from home, Las Vegas September 27-29.
