Low-Mileage ’78 Trans Am Is Quintessential Muscle Car

There is no symbol more representative of the muscle car era than the “Screaming Eagle” upon the hood of a Pontiac Trans Am. This 1978 T/A not only is adorned with the optional eagle, but is finished in the classic Starlight Black with brown and gold details, a color scheme made famous in Smokey and the Bandit.

Currently being offered at Bring A Trailer, this 1978 Pontiac Trans Am is a hardtop example of the iconic car. The interior is finished in an eye-catching white vinyl and features an AM/FM radio with tape deck to blast your favorite hair band. Under the “Screaming Eagle” is a 6.6-liter W72 V8 engine utilizing a 4-speed automatic transmission and with all that drivability this T/A is showing just 26k miles on the odometer.

This second-generation Trans Am currently has a high-bid of $15,555 and seven days remaining in its online auction. The sale will also include the car’s original window sticker which features its original $6,754 sale price and makes this T/A prime for any classic collector or someone looking for a fun weekend car.
