McLaren Debuts Ultimate Road-Legal, Track Inspired Supercar

Between 1988 and 1991 Ayrton Senna would rack up three Formula One world championships for McLaren before his untimely death at the San Marino Grand Prix. Today, McLaren celebrated his racing legacy with their new Senna supercar.

True to their heritage and that of Senna, McLaren designed their new supercar with the track in mind, but keeping it entirely road-legal. To achieve the levels of performance the manufacturer is used to they dropped a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 into the 2,641 pound car giving it the “most powerful McLaren road car internal combustion engine ever” in the lightest McLaren since the F1. Producing 800hp and 590lb.-ft. of torque the new Senna delivers a power-to-rate ratio of “668PS-per-tonne.”

McLaren is limiting the run to just 500 hand-assembled units which will carry a price tag of just over one-million dollars and slated for production in Q3 of 2018.
