One Of 809 This 300D Is An A+ In Our Book

When Barrett-Jackson next opens up their auction house doors it will be in sunny Palm Beach, Florida for the 17th time and while always bringing the heat, literally and figuratively, this time is a little different. Barrett-Jackson will be auctioning off 30 cars from the World of Classics Collection all at no reserve.

One standout from the lots crossing the block is this 1958 Chrysler 300D. The letter series rose to popularity during the ten-years between 1955-1965 and was the brainchild of famed designer Virgil Exner. In this third year production run only 809 of these 300s were made, the D denoting the third model year. This was also the last year of the Firepower Hemi being used and produced 380hp from the 392cu.-in. 8-cylinder Cross-Ram engine.

Forget all these words, the letter car series has been the best use of the alphabet to date and this limited number 1958 300D could be yours at no reserve when Barrett-Jackson holds their Palm Beach auction April 11-13.
