Portuguese Auction Brings Out Quirkiest In Europe

Today and tomorrow, RM Sotheby’s is playing host to over 130 cars in Portugal as the Saragga Collection heads to auction. Consisting primarily of European makes and models the collection does have a few examples of American muscle mixed in, but what really steals the show (at least from the American perspective) are the European micro cars.

1961 Messerschmitt KR201 Roadster

-Top Speed of 65mph
-First registered in Portugal and will be sold in Portugal

1962 Trojan 200

-Engineered in Ireland
-Rare left-side drive example
-Three wheeled microcar

1983 Sado 550

-Daihatsu AB20 two-cylinder engine, 28hp
-1 of appx. 500
-Under 4.5-feet wide
