Rare V-Code Cuda Headed To Auction

It’s hard for me to cover the Plymouth Cuda since it will without a doubt get Heart’s “Barracuda” stuck in my head for the rest of the day, but in the case of this 1970 Cuda convertible it’s worth it.

Any viewer of the car will immediately note the car is stunning and not just because of the high impact Sublime Green exterior. This 1970 was one of just 29 V-code Cudas produced for that model year making it exceptionally rare. It features a 440cu.-in. 6 BBL engine under its Shaker hood scoop with 3 x 2-barrel Holley carbs. It additionally features an A727 TorqueFlite automatic transmission and Goodyear Polyglas GT tires on Rallye wheels rounding out the key performance elements.

The interior is in stark contrast to the exterior, aside from the 440 side stripes, in that it’s all black everything. Black seats, convertible top and dash (with woodgrain accents) make the car pop against the green outside making the rare Cuda as pleasant to look at as it would be to drive. Only produced for two years this classic muscle car is projected to bring between $300,000 – $500,000 in just over a week at Mecum’s Harrisburg auction.
