Renowned Customizer Frank DeRosa’s Golden Piranha Listed

Throughout history certain names carry with them a sound that rings greatness: Evander Holyfield, Frank Sinatra, Mickey Mantle. Names with such gravitas that they’re destined for stardom in their respective fields and in the custom car world that name is Frank DeRosa.

Seemingly named for an Italian sports car himself, DeRosa was born in 1929 and was running his own shop in Pittsburg, California shy of his 25th birthday. The stars had seemingly aligned for DeRosa who found himself in the perfect era on the prefect coast to breathe life into his custom creations. Having just celebrated his 91st birthday Frank Jr. seems to be at the helm these days, but senior’s creations, like this 1966 Buick Riviera DeRosa Kustom, continue to make waves.

Being offered online by the DeRosa family this Riviera represents an opportunity few have had and even fewer will ever have, the chance to buy a DeRosa style custom from the man himself. First built in 1966 DeRosa would give his touch to the car over 15 years later in 1983. The Golden Piranha, as it would become know, would the tour the custom car scene before being parked in a collection around 1998 where it would remain un-driven for two decades.

Having found its way home to the DeRosa family, this incredible car is now being offered on eBay where you could buy it now for $75,000.
