Three European Sports Cars To Shine In Paris Auction

A one day auction seems a rarity among the major auction houses of the U.S., but across the pond RM Sotheby’s regular holds such auto auctions. Case and point, today’s Paris auction which see nearly 80 lots fetch a tens of millions of dollars combined and three of those top lots are representing Europes three major car producing countries: England, Germany and Italy.

 

1955 Jaguar D-Type

– $6,500,000 to $7,000,000 projected sale price

– 7th customer D-Type built

– Owned by Le Mans winner Richard Attwood

 

1964 Porsche 904 GTS

– $1,800,000 to $2,000,000 projected sale price

– First Porsche with glass-fiber bodyshell

– Full number matching with original engine and gearbox

 

1972 Ferrari 365 GTS/4-A Daytona Spider by Scaglietti

– $2,600,000 to $2,900,000 projected sale price

– One of 19 LHD Euro-spec Spiders

– Less than 20,000 original miles
