Toyota Celica Sunchaser, The Quirky Classic You Need

The aptly named Sunchaser was not the work of Toyota, but rather the California based engineering firm, Griffith Company.

Only about 2,000 of these 1981 Toyota Celica’s were converted into convertibles making them quite rare over 30 years later. This particular example is brought to us by way of a Barn Finds ad and reads under 100,000 miles on the odometer.

Additionally, it has undergone new paint and new vinyl top while maintaining the stock interior. It’s currently listed for under $9,000 so if you find yourself in the Virginia area, have some extra cash and a desire to chase the sun then, well, this is the classic, albeit quirky, car for you!
