Watch How Ford Brought The Mustang To Life In NASCAR

Frankly I wish Ford Performance would have done this in the style of Making a Murderer and be called Making a Mustang, but if wishes were horses beggars would ride. Part one of the two part Making of NASCAR Mustang videos was released last week, but these are binge watching times so we wanted to wait till part two was released today to present in its entirety.

Most just assume Ford Performance is just slapping the Mustang name on a NASCAR car, but the reality is they designed this car from scratch. Furthermore, the Mustang name adds complex challenges. Designers needed to make a racecar, but also keep the Mustang aesthetic. On top of all of that, the car needs to be able to win. It’s no longer just a team’s season they’re gambling with, but the entire Mustang name which is far more valuable to Ford.

You can see how designers handled the challenge through the driver’s reception of the car in both parts of the series below. You can also see it in race action in Thursday night’s qualifying races and Sunday’s Daytona 500.
