Winter’s Coming, Thankfully The Charger GT AWD Is Too

It would seem that Dodge peered outside into the snowy Detroit landscape and had an epiphany, the Dodge Charger GT AWD. Aimed at extending their performance lineup into markets with more than one season the GT AWD is just the four door sedan to do it.

The car is setup with a system that automatically switches the Charger between AWD and RWD as needed without the driver having to do a thing. Behind the wheel the driver will still have the option of full-time AWD if they determine that the elements warrant it. To the opposite of that, if the driver desires all-time RWD for that classic muscle car feel they can achieve that as well at the touch of a button.

Via Dodge:

The Charger GT AWD features Dodge’s award-winning 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine, which delivers 300 horsepower at 6,350 rpm and a responsive 264 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,800 rpm. It’s paired with the standard TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission, offering up to an EPA-estimated 18 city/27 hwy miles per gallon (mpg). A tuned induction system and dual exhaust from the manifolds back to the tips help deliver more than 90 percent of the engine’s peak torque from 1,800 to 6,400 rpm – all for outstanding drivability and responsiveness.

Those desiring the AWD Dodge GT can begin placing their orders in January for a suggested retail price (MSRP) of $34,995 with a scheduled delivery of Q1 of next year. Just in time for the tail end of winter in the south or for a few additional in the north…pending Punxsutawney Phil.
