Wrangler Rubicon Recon Returns For 2020

If you like your trails as twisted as your car’s name then the Wrangler Rubicon Recon is the Jeep for you!

Back for the 2020 model year is the Rubicon Recon. The Jeep will feature the brand’s 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine which will include the eTorque mild hybrid tech. While words with that hint at electronic and hybrid tend to be an ICE fans worst nightmare this isn’t a bad thing in off-roading as the more instantaneous torque could certainly be a plus in a number of cases. Additionally adding to the off-road performance of the Recon is:

All Wrangler Rubicon Recon models feature next-generation Dana front and rear heavy-duty axles, enhanced off-road rock rails and the Rock-Trac NV241 two-speed transfer case with a 4.0:1 low-range gear ratio. Wrangler Rubicon Recon also includes electric front and rear locking differentials, a disconnecting front sway bar and 33-inch Falken Wildpeak Mud-Terrain tires, taking the Wrangler to the highest level of capability.

Cosmetically, the Recon won’t be too drastically different, but will feature enough upgrades to set it apart from other Jeep variants. Those upgrades include heavy-duty rock rails, gloss black grille with body-color surrounds, body-color fenders and of course a Recon fender badge. The Recon is available for order now and has an MSRP of $43,380 for the two-door model and $46,880 for the four-door version.
